What if... Kay Vess by EndOfLineArt on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Although numerous female video game characters don't look like their real life voice actress or motion actress counterparts, Ubisoft could have at least made Kay Vess good looking. Female video game protagonists tend to be quite attractive, and there's good reason for that. Let's face it, sex sells. Humberly is gorgeous and Ubisoft dropped the ball on this one. It would have been awesome if Kay looked like Humberly.

I personally won't be playing Star Wars Outlaws not because Kay Vess is ugly, which I really don't care. I won't play it because there is no option to play as a male character. Come on, this is supposed to be the first open world Star Wars game and you don't have the option to choose male or female?! Starfield sucks but yet not only can you choose your character's sex, you can also fully customize the entire look.

Ubisoft could have done it like Cyberpunk 2077. The main character, V, can be either sex and be further customized. In the case of SW Outlaws, Kay is typically a female name, but they could have gave the main character a gender-neutral name and let the player decide the gender and look.

I'm a hardcore Star Wars fan and during the development of SW Outlaws, I was hoping a male character would be a playable option. I don't mind that a female character is an option in games as real life female players for decades have been wanting strong female characters to play in a wide variety of games. But the Star Wars universe doesn't have just one big female character, it has numerous powerful females as well as males, of course.
