Goseiger Villain Movie References List by Firecraker-J on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

So I found out awhile ago, that every monster in the Super Sentai Series, Tensou Sentai Goseiger, is apparenlty named after a popular movie. So I, being the movie lover that I am, went ahead and looked them all up and inform the masses.

I went with the Japanese movie posters just because I wanted the authenticity. Plus, some look WAY cooler than the english version! There are a few posters in english, but that's either because I couldn't find the Japanese version or the Japanese poster is exactly the same as the English version.

Now for the names of the movies the monserts are based on in order from left to right:

Top row: Blade Runner, Predator, Star Trek, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Planet of the Apes, The Thing, Mars Attacks!, War of the Worlds, The Hidden, Avatar and The 2004 Fantastic Four movie.

Second row: Alien, Solar Crisis, Batteries Not Included, Howard The Duck (Yes, seriously.), Stargate, Captain EO, Deep Impact, The Blob, King Kong, Tremors and They Live.

Third row: The Host, The 1925 Phantom of The Opera film, The Twilight Zone Movie, Water Horse: Legend of The Deep, The Faculty, Pet Semitary, Fairy Tale: A True Story, IT, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, Village of The Damned and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Fourth row: Robocop, Metropolis, Short Circut, Short Circut 2, Steath, Universal Soilder, Crank: High Voltage, Back to The Future, A.I., Surrogates and yet to be released Short Circut remake.

Final row: The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Lord of The Rings and Brazil.

Also, each villain faction seems to be based on a very specific genre of films:

Warstar is "Alien Invasion" movies.

Yuumajuu is "The Monsters That Hide" movies.

Mantrintis is "The Thin Line Between Man and Machine" movies.

and Earth Salvation Plan is movie franchises based on famous fantasy novels.

and of course, each faction has at least one monster that based on a movie that doesn't follow their respective genre exactly...
