I still think "Auferstanden Aus Ruinen", the East German anthem, would be a better anthem for unified Germany than "Deutschland Uber Alles".

Or, it would be a good anthem for Europe.

Or for the human race.

Rising from the ruins

Overcoming the shame of the past

For the sake of our children

We shall build again
