More practice. It was meant to be a speedpaint... but it ended up taking me forever, lol.
This scene's from The Secret World of Arriety, which I saw last month. Used a reference picture. I really enjoy the backgrounds of Miyazaki movies! All the detail... it's wonderful, but painful when you're drawing it yourself. xD

I know what you mean, this is such a beautiful work (and I have a high respect for people who can do digital paintings, it's too difficult for me ) and the movie with all the details of the nature is so inspiring...I have a similar acrylic painting but I've chosen an angle which is nearer to the house at the left side.
