The Secret Creation by Clepsidras, visual art

(Note: this is an update with new info, from a previous post I did a few years ago.) Well, don't I feel stupid. But I guess being stupid is how we have to learn some times. Right? I've been using FE for years. And most of the images I get from FE are pretty fair, but some of them could be unusable. But happily, in the last few weeks, I've just found a simple way to increase the quality of the image FE produces. So basically I've been doing it wrong all this time. So it goes... I used to Save my images as standard jpeg's. And then I would always use Photoshop to save them again, as a jpeg, but at the highest quality settings that program provides. As I mentioned, this was always ok. But better late, than never at all, this is the new lesson I have learned....and I'm going to give you a step by step process here, from start to finish. The starting point, for me, is when I finally discover/find an interesting image. Lately, for my preview size, I have either been using a small

Hello FE hive-mind, a new deviantART'er (https://www.deviantart.com/ragcat392) is looking for a copy of FE to install. Does anyone have a shareable copy? She has Dropbox available for the transfer. If you do, please contact her, and share!!

Hey all - This is a few days late, but there is exciting news!! One of our group, Filipa, recently received a DD for her fractal, "The Secret Creation" (thumbnail below) - and it was made with Fractal Explorer!! Congratulations, Filipa!!! How awesome is that? Please have a look, and Like/Comment: :thumb833874411: Thank you all for keeping FE alive!! - Mark

Hi Mark, just a quick and possibly quite stupid question, but which is the correct folder? I'm guessing "Featured Gallery", but don't want to incur your wrath on my first day! :wrath:

Hey Derek. Featured, or Featured 2, are both fine. Featured is near full (it actually was at one time, which was why I created the 2nd folder). So, Featured is fine until you start receiving the message it is full again.

The last few days I have been
on the various fractal group sites
that I belong to and reading past journal
entries and have noticed that a lot of people
have not found a whole lot of help out there
for those noobs just starting or even others
who have had FE for years
That was one reason why I joined FE User Group
back when I started
They were very helpful and offered many useful tips
can't remember exactly who I got them from
but I'm sure they are on the list in my last journal
So I decided to see if I could access the site
through The Wayback Machine again
The tutorial section was accessible and here is the link

web.archive.org/web/2007021206…

this will take you directly to the tutorials pages
rather than doing all the searching on WB site

If anyone goes there just remember to use the back button
on your browser to get to the other pages
rather than the next page button within the site
you can use the button for the main FE User Group page
some pages on the the main page Do Not work

I hope you all find this useful
Any questions I will try and answer

Also there a lot of very talented Fractal artists out there
who do some amazing work not only with FE
cheers to all of them

That is awesome, Gary. I've added the tutorial to the Group info section (and given you credit for finding this!). You are awesome. Thanks for keeping FE alive my friend!!

how do i put a journal entry into the resources?

Click on the name of your journal entry so that it opens in a "submission like" view. Then it is just like adding the journal to any group. Scroll down and find the "Add to Group" button...and so on...

Hello,
doesn anyone have the 3D libraries? The Eclectasy page is dead :( thx a lot!
