I noticed you lived in the USA, which surprised me too see what I thought wouldn't be a commonly used flower there...They are native to Australia and are commonly called "bottlebrush" due to the appearance of the flowers...Theres heaps where I live and their high nectar content means birds and bees just love feeding of the flowers ( just watch out for those nasty bee stings )
