OC Ben 10 Alien #29: U-Wish by Fried-Ricer-Man on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Name: U-Wish
Species: Ersatz Djinn
Home Planet: Ornbin Illasmiw
Omnitrix Placement: Turban
Voice Actor: Dan Castellaneta
Lore: Ersatz Djinni are a friendly and benevolent species that typically seek to make the universe a better and overall more peaceful place by using their abilities, such as by ending famines by creating food and crops at the command of starving colonists or altering the trajectories of incoming asteroids of gamma rays from populated planets. They are aware however, how easily it would be for someone to misuse their powers and thus limit their interaction with the universe through the use of special devices. Known as Translocative Drafting Capsules, these lamp or jar-like gadgets are able to summon an Ersatz Djinni to its position anywhere in the universe upon being rubbed, allowing them to fulfill the wish of any who find it. Such devices, and the Ersatz Djinni themselves, are the basis for the myth of genies and their lamps in human culture, as well as several other, low-tech planets through the universe.

Technically speaking, Ersatz Djinni are capable of fulfilling any wish that is asked of them, such as killing other living things or resurrection of the dead. Knowing how detrimental their power could be if they fell into even good hands, the Ersatz Djinni have gone to extensive effort to spread the misconception that they must adhere to a series of rules when it comes to granting wishes:

- Unable to kill any living thing
- Unable to resurrect the dead
- Unable to make anyone fall in love with anyone else
- Unable to grant anyone else power greater than or equal to their own

Powers and Abilities
Bullet; Green Reality Warping - U-Wish possesses limitless reality warping capabilities similar to Alien X and can do just about anything including creating and rearranging matter on a whim, defying physics, altering time and space and more.
Bullet; Green Wish Fulfillment - Much like an actual genie of folklore, U-Wish is able to fulfill the wishes of others just by them saying “I wish” and whatever they desire. U-Wish is capable fulfilling a limitless amount of nearly any kind of wish, as long as thy don’t break any one of the four rules (see weaknesses for more info).
Bullet; Green Omnifarious - U-Wish has complete and absolute control over his molecular structure and is capable of limitless shapeshifting and self-molecular manipulation as he can change his appearance and shape, mimic the attributes of different materials, stretch himself like rubber, duplicate without limit and much more.
Bullet; Green Meta Teleportation - U-Wish can teleport himself and others without limit and can travel to virtually anywhere, any time or any place
Bullet; Green Enhanced Condition - U-Wish possesses levels of strength, speed, durability, reflexes etc. far above most beings and more on the same level of Celestialsapiens.

Weaknesses
Bullet; Red Backfired Wishes - Most of the wishes U-Wish grants has some kind of ironic twist to them that backfires on those who wished in the first place.
Bullet; Red Enemy Wishes - U-Wih is compelled to fulfill a wish for anyone who says “I Wish” around U-Wish’s vicinity, this could come at a great price if any of Ben’s enemies were to learn of this compulsion.
Bullet; Red The Four Rules - There are four rules to wish granting that all Faux Djinn follow including U-Wish, these rules are as follows.
1. U-Wish can’t kill any living thing.
2. U-Wish also cannot bring anyone back from the dead.
3. U-Wish can’t make anyone fall in love with anyone else.
4. U-Wish cannot grant anyone power equal to or greater than his own.

Trivia
Bullet; Black The name of U-Wish’s species comes from the word "ersatz", which is a synonym for "artificial" or "false", while "djinni" itself is another (and the original) name for genies, which U-Wish is based on.
Bullet; Black U-Wish’s planet is a corruption of Robin Williams, who voiced Genie in Disney’s Aladdin which was a key point of inspiration in U-Wish’s personality and themes.
Bullet; Black The Ersatz Djinn influenced the idea of genies in human culture after they visited Earth many centuries ago. This is similar to how Thep Khufans influenced the idea of mummies.
Bullet; Black U-Wish being voiced by Dan Castellaneta is a reference to how he voiced Genie in Return of Jafar and the Aladdin tv series.
Bullet; Black U-Wish speaks in an Indian accent.
Bullet; Black U-Wish was created with the idea that there are aliens more powerful than Alien X in the Omnitrix as proposed by Dwayne McDuffie. U-Wish has reality warping abilities as powerful as Alien X’s but he’s not as limited in using them.

Bullet; Black U-Wish comes from the Mythos System, a system of planets housing beings based on creatures from mythology and folklore, usually fairy tales. This includes the Nemuina (Pesky Dust), Terratnal Ogres (Toepick), the elf-like Huldrians, the dwarf-like Arbeiders, unicorn/centaur-like Equestrian Quadropods and the gorgon-like Succupents.
Bullet; Black The idea of the Mythos system is similar to the Anur System’s theme of having aliens based on movie monster archetypes.
