Rise!Hamato Sibling AU - Growing Pains
When Alexander joins the fam, Victoria isn’t so sure about him. Despite constant assurance to their little sister that their new brother can be trusted, Tori can’t help but feel like he needs to prove it. “Why does he have to live with us? Shouldn’t there be an adjustment period with new ‘siblings’?” Tori argued in the kitchen. Leonardo watched his younger sister, smirking a little to himself as he watched her try to make a case with Raphael. “No, Vee. We’ve been over this. Alex is our brother. He is moving in with us. Dad already made this clear. End of story.” Raph argued back. “Look, I know you two don’t get along. But that’ll change, little sister. Give our brother a chance.” He said. He laid his hand on her shoulder, giving her a reassuring smile before leaving the kitchen. Tori groaned in frustration. She looked over and saw her smirking blue brother and she narrowed her eyes at him. “C’mon Leon, you see my side of this, right? Alexander doesn’t like me!” She huffed. The red-eared slider ruffled the turtle-cat’s bangs. “Toria, sis, you’re just afraid of this change. Trust me, this is gonna be a good thing. You’ll see.” He said before leading her out of the kitchen with him. The siblings all gathered with Splinter and April at the Lair entrance. The rat mutant looked up at his children. “We will give Alexander a warm welcome. He is a part of our family now.” He said, grinning. Mikey was practically jittering in excitement. Starry stood beside him, just as excited. “Another older brother!” She chirped. Tori rolled her eyes. Alexander entered the Lair, carrying his bags. He looked around and nodded his head in greeting. “Hello.” Mikey practically tackled him, embracing him in a tight hug. “Welcome to the family! I have a room all set up for you, Alex! You’re gonna love it here!” Alex chuckled slightly, patting Mikey’s head as he let go. “Thanks.” He looked over and saw the annoyed look on Tori’s face. He felt as equally annoyed. Since their first meeting, he was annoyed by that cat. He wasn’t a “cat” person. How could she be associated with the Turtles? She didn’t look like them! Now, Starlette was an exception. She was just a super sweet little turtle-cat. Victoria though, he would need to get used to. A few weeks went by and Alexander settled in well with the Hamatos. He bonded with all of his new siblings. Except for Victoria. Things were tense between them. Though, neither sibling seemed to let up on their rivalry. One night, however, Tori was up late studying mystic spells in the living room. She was stressing herself, as the looming threat of Shredder returning was real. She wanted to make sure her mystic powers were strong enough. Alexander entered the living room, seeing her stressed. He sighed softly and went to the kitchen to make some tea. Returning a few minutes later, he cleared his throat to get her attention. Victoria looked over at him, and then looked back at her book. “Yes, Alexander? What is it?” She mumbled. Alexander sighed, approaching her. “I can see you’re deep in your studies. I brought you some tea. It might help calm your nerves.” He said, plopping next to her and offering her cup to her. Tori put her book down and grabbed the tea. “Thanks.” She mumbled, taking a few sips. After what seemed like an eternity of silence, she sighed and looked at him. “Listen, I know I haven’t been the most loving of sisters lately… I’m sorry… I have… some trust issues when it comes to new people in my life.” She admitted. Alex looked at her in shock. What a confession. He sighed softly and inched closer to her. “Well, you’re not completely at fault. I haven’t been the most affectionate of brothers either. Both of us being angry and untrustworthy. It’s not gonna help us.” Alexander gently laid his hand on Victoria’s shoulder, his first gesture of affection to his little sister. “Maybe we could start over? Become brother and sister?” He offered. Tori nodded with a smile and hugged him. “I would like that, big brother.” She said, feeling as if a weight had been lifted from her chest. The next morning, Mikey and Starry had found Alex and Tori on the couch sleeping next to each other. “Hey guys!” Mikey harshly whispered, trying not to wake them. “Look! They’re finally getting along!” Leo laughed softly, holding his hand out to Donnie. “I told you it would only take 3 weeks for them to crack!” He said with a smirk. Donnie sighed in annoyance and handed Leo some money. “I thought Vickie would hold out a bit longer.” He mused with a slight smile.
