Description

I have the privilege of working and dealing with disabled children. This was taken this morning during a play where my youngest performed.
Both my children have attended this school where kids with T21, autism, cerebral palsy and other high degree permanent damages are integrated in regular classes.
It's a brave new world. About 7 years ago a girl died in my arms (literally in my arms) with a stroke. Just like that. It changes you.
But every smile is a victory.
Every laugh, every time they run to you and hug you is a victory.
Every time they smile with their eyes when their body betrays their will is a victory.
Nature can be so fucking cruel. And so can we. But we can also change their lives. No paternalistic attitudes, just honest giving. It's so fucking simple.

On a side note, I bought the canon 55-250m IS about 1 year ago (maybe longer?) and I never use it. I can't believe how well this lens performs. Its quality is far superior than the 17-50mm 2.8. Extremely reliable, sharpness is great. Bad built, but nice quality for the price.
