Sentinel Xenia and her owner, Stormpaw the Frostsaber have gone through some rough times in the past couple of years. They entered active duty fairly young and unfortunately were met with a disaster on one of their very early patrol missions. Xenia was captured and Stormpaw ended up wounded and abandoned in the wilds. It took nearly a year before a successful rescue mission managed to free Xenia, who will most likely bear the marks of captivity for a very long time. Stormpaw has been found and taken care of by a family of dwarven and human farmers, slowly becoming a hulking house feline who lounged on the farm until the day of their reunion.

The two have spent years learning to work as a team after they returned to active duty, taking small steps - Xenia in regaining confidence in her abilities and Stormpaw shedding the lazy house cat habits and a little bit of fluff she's gained thanks to her generous dwarven hosts. It seemed that things were returning to normal, when Stormpaw's weight started to skyrocket despite their daily vigorous exercise. Both worried and confused, Xenia brought Stormpaw to the Brigade hospital and a few weeks later got rewarded with a huge litter of 12 saber kittens. 11 Frostsabers and 1 extremely fluffy Nightsaber with a suspiciously long tail.

They've been taking care of the kittens at the Brigade hospital grounds ever since, with the help of several mercenaries who grew fond of the huge feline family.

Happy Valentine's day everyone! I thought that this fuzzy story and artwork would be a fitting piece to upload today. This piece is the first larger personal artwork with Brigade thematic I've felt really inspired for thanks to a long RP story arc. I've spent a fair amount of time on it, but luckily managed to finish in time for Valentine's upload . We have managed to squeeze only seven of the twelve kittens in, but the rest is safe, most likely chewing on the nearby guards! I hope you like it!

This piece was an opportunity to study dozens of nature photos - the main source a photoshoot of an awesome tiger momma from Liberec Zoo (Czech republic, my ref folder says 2015-2016 ).
