Hull/protection:

The improved mark of the Daedalus 304E has two hulls, an inner and outer hull. The inner hull is of a monocoque construction, made up of 12mm Trinium/Titanium alloy, with a suspension frame supporting the section modules. Surrounding this is the main hull skeleton frame composed of a steel/titanium laminated structural I beam, whereby the outer hull is attached. The outer hull is constructed of new super hard 30mm Trinium/Tritalium alloy, with additional armour plate sections varying from 1m to 1.35m thick. The depth between the outer and inner hull varies between 1.8m and 3.2m, this is filled with a honeycomb matrix composed of Titanium and structural steel.

(Tritalium was discovered in 2011 on Earth’s fourth off world site, designated the Delta site. It is primarily a mining establishment for both that ore and Trinium. Tritalium works best when alloyed with Trinium, giving a metal 4 times hard and 30% lighter than Trinium alone)

A special thank you to my Dad RANWO for providing me with the engineering details. Okwa for insisting we needed gunnery on the keel. Mallacore - Chiletrek - Aels-224 and AlxFX for constantly providing me with ideas and inspiration.
