CANADIAN SHIELD (Dan Matheson)

Rock n Rolling young RCMP officer Dan Matheson loved his heavy metal music, his wife, and his children. He loved his job protecting people as a highly decorated Officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He impressed the right people, and was promoted to a top secret department within CSIS looking to enhance soldiers and law enforcement officers with cyber tech to make them better assets in the field.

When the villainous force of nature, MONSTROUS, caused massive destruction in Ottawa during a rampage, Dan was mortally wounded defending the capital. Thinking as quickly as he could, Dr. Franz Dippel renowned and controversial miracle doctor and direct descendent of Johann Conrad Dippel, the theologian, alchemist, and early meta-scientist who is remembered for his controversial experiments, was under contract employment with CSIS at the time of this attack, realized the only way to save Dan's life would be to have him undergo the enhancement procedure, replacing his damaged body with robotic and cybernetic parts. This was still in the testing and stage and not ready for the field yet, but Dr. Dippel did what he could to save Dan's life.

It worked, Dan was saved. His body and head encased in a powerful metallic chassis, limbs replaced with motorized arms and legs, and powered by a powerful nuclear battery. After weeks of rehab, Dan was placed in the field and given the code name CANADIAN SHIELD, to represent being a protector of this great country. But on his first mission something went horribly wrong, the computer system navigating Dan's nervous system fried and his mind was shattered. He started attacking everyone breaking the law...jaywalkers, litterers, loiterers, prostitutes, shoplifters, his mind now run by a computer, every law is logically just as important and as he is a defender of the law must enforce...at all costs.

Dr. Franz Dippel, horrified by what has transpired with the CANADIAN SHIELD, has shut down the enhancement program. He's also summoned the heroes he had a hand in developing LINEBACKER, MIGHTY MOM, and PARTY GIRL to try and locate and apprehend the fallen officer.

CANADIAN SHIELD has great strength and durability because of his robotic metal chassis body. His computer targeting system gives him rapid pinpoint accuracy when using his weapons, and the battery powering him amplifies his stamina and endurance. He is a formidable opponent, and should be avoided at all costs.
