A laugh at my expense.

From 2007 to 2016 I wrote a long series of stories for my own amusement. When I first started out I delineated rules for how one of the protagonists’ non-human physiology operated. Not too long after I started writing I had this great idea for a plot twist, one that I immediately put to paper, even though it would be years until I got to the point that I would get to inserting the event into my writing. When the time came to finally introduce the plot twist, it finally occurred to me that it violated every aspect of the rules I’d laid out for the one character. Somehow I’d overlooked that fact for years, and now I had to find a way to write around my mistake. Yesterday I saw a bunch of John Byrne’s artwork, and it reminded me of Marvel’s Atlantis Attacks crossover in 1989. After it was over a one-page comic was drawn by Byrne, apologizing he had included a character in his chapter of Atlantis Attacks as there was no way she could have been in the story.
