I might be on a little creative spree recently and thanks to the ever-so-amazing ruffler foot I recently got for my sewing machine I have finally achieved one of the goals I had in cosplay making...Belle's original ballgown I've been wanting to make this since FOREVER but I hate hand gathering, so it was a tad bit difficult...but now my loyal ruffler makes everything easier XXDD
I'd have loved to make the skirt larger (8 panels on the bias then gathered), but the fabric involved would have been too much since I wanted a good fabric...and I'm always on a rather tight budget, so it's a simple 8-panels-on-the-straigth-grain skirt XD the circumference's still 3.4mt so it's by NO means small, but it doesn't flow like the original (=
When I'll be rich I'll make it again on the bias AND fully gathered on top XD

Anyway, the skirt and sleeves are made of pale yellow translucent silk (you can hardly see it from the pictures but it's made of a shiny thread the gleams a veeery light orange-y), whereas the bodice and drapes are made of shiny dark yellow cotton total fabric used is 3mt for the skirt/sleeves and 1mt for the bodice/drapes
The skirt is 110cm long, and to gather it like this I had to use a lenght of 160cm. Gathers are metched from panel to panel to try to give continuity
I draped the fabric for the bodice as I'm having a great time recently figuring out patterns directly on the mannequin, it's made of 6 panels with a boned corset laceing and lightweight rigiband bones sewn in the seams
The sleeves are supported by a rigiband cage, I wish I could figure our why there's no way to make them fuller without having the fall out (><)
All buttons were covered with matching fabric with the extremely useful button-making tool by Prym, I love using it XD
Took only some 30 hours to complete it...I needed the distraction XXD

PS: if the skirt looks a bit "bumpy" on a side it's because my loyal cage is starting to get cranky and needs a bit of a renewal...XD
