My-Snorlax-Bree by GlitzTheMimiga on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
I finally got around to making a full picture for my snorlax Bree, I also reworked her look a bit.
Lychee, my lucario was the first pokemon on my team, Bree was the second.
After Lychee recovered and I helped him adjust to his new leg, we travelled to the Kanto region of the Pokemon world.
I decided that Lychee needed to take a new league challenge to help him get back into fighting shape, so we began by challenging the pokemon Gyms.
Several Badges later, while travelling to Vermillion city through route 11, we suddenly heard a voice calling for help.
We arrived at the entrance to Diglett’s cave only to find a large female snorlax’s behind sticking out of the tunnel.
“Hello? Can someone help me? I’m stuck!” she cried out, her voice muffled.
“Don’t worry we’ll try and pull you out!” Lychee shouted as we both grabbed her feet and pulled. We tugged and pulled but she was stuck fast.
“it’s no good, she hasn’t budged at all!” I said wiping the sweat from my head.
“Maybe we could go get the Echo and use it pull her out?” Lychee suggested.
“I wouldn’t risk it, the ship has a lot of thruster power, if we pulled her out too fast we might injure her” I said trying to think of another option, and then I realised I had one other option as I reached into my pocket.
“this would work!” I said as I produced a pokeball.
“Okay… but I better ask her first before we try that” said Lychee. “Miss? We can get you out, if my partner puts you in a pokeball… are you okay with that?” he asked hoping she would agree.
“if it gets me out of here, then do it!” she replied.
“okay, let do this” said Lychee and I reeled back to throw the ball, but I paused and held back sheepishly.
“G?” said Lychee confused “what are you waiting for?”
“Sorry! I’m just a bit apprehensive about throwing this at her...bum!” I said.
Finally I threw the ball and it bounced momentarily of her behind making go “oh!” and then the ball opened and the snorlax was pulled into it.
Lychee quickly grabbed the pokeball and moved it away from the cave entrance before placing it on the ground.
“Okay, she should pop back out in a moment” I explained as the pokeball rocked back and forth, but then we both heard a click and pokeball stopped moving.
“Did… Did I just capture her!?” I said incredulously.
“Umm… yeah?” Lychee replied also quite confused.
“but we weren’t even trying!? We didn’t weaken her!?” I shouted.
I had never caught another pokemon since Lychee, if fact Lychee joined me without the need to throw a pokeball and it had been just him and me.
I never tried to catch another pokemon before now and so I had no prior experience catching them.
This caught both of us by surprise.
I picked up the pokeball and let the female snorlax back out.
“Ohhhh!” she stretched and yawned happily “I’ve been stuck in there all day, thank y-...” the snorlax turned to face us and suddenly looked upset.
Neither Lychee or myself were sure what to do as the Snorlax looked at us, but then she suddenly bounded forward and before Lychee could react she scooped him up and hugged him.
“oh you poor thing!” said the snorlax.
“What the!?” Lychee grunted as she cuddled him sympathetically.
I was totally dumbfounded and had no idea what was going on with this Snorlax (even though I could understand her speech using the pokemon translator I placed in my ear)
“Miss! Would you please put me down!?” Lychee shouted and the Snorlax held him out with both arms to look at him.
“who did this to you dear!?” she asked looking at Lychee’s scars “Was it you!?” the Snorlax turned to me with an angry look. Lychee spoke before I could defend myself.
“He didn’t hurt me! he’s my partner!” Lychee quickly added. “He looks after me”
“Oh I see” her scorn disappeared and was replaced with a smile “but what happened to you?” she asked kindly.
“Oh I um...” Lychee was taken aback by the sudden question “I was hurt in a vicious battle months ago… I’d rather not talk about it” Lychee said grimly.
“Umm, excuse me!” I said “Could you put him down please?”
“Oh of course, silly me!” she chuckled and gently put him back down.
“Thank you” Lychee sighed “so… after we used the pokeball to get you out, we expected you to burst right back out as soon as we moved you, why didn’t you?”
“It was so cosy in there, and after being stuck in that silly hole all day it felt so nice I didn't want to leave” she replied yawning again.
“Speaking of the tunnel, how did you get stuck in there?” Lychee asked.
“I was looking for food dear, I smelled fresh berries coming out of there and I tried to squeeze through to follow the smell… I didn’t see that I was too big to fit until I was stuck in there” she said blushing a little.
“It must have been the scent of viridian forest flowing with the air through the tunnel” I surmised.
“Well, at least you’re out of there now...” I said as I looked at the pokeball still in my hand.
“Listen… I know I’ve captured you, but you don’t have to stay with us if you don’t want to” I explained and the snorlax looked intently at us.
“I would love to stay with you!” she said as she grabbed both me and Lychee into another hug.
“Well then!” I said chuckling, “Would you like to go back into your pokeball for a nap?” I asked and she grinned.
“Yes please!” she said and placed us both back down.
“Oh! One more thing!” I said “What should we call you?”
“Umm… well I don’t have a name” she replied.
I thought about this for a moment and I grinned when I thought a name.
“How about we call you… Bree?”
Bree is much more active than most Snorlaxes and only sleeps at night, the same as everyone else. It's unknown why this is (it's a rare trait for a snorlax) but this also means she eats a bit more then other snorlaxes to keep her weight up (since it's actually unhealthy for a snorlax to be underweight).
Bree spends her time in her pokeball whenever we travel to different places (she wouldn't fit in the ship if I kept her out all the time, but she doesn't mind) but I always let her out as soon as we arrive.
She has also become a mother to the group and likes to fuss over everyone (especially Lychee, she always worries for him).
Bree doesn't like to battle much, but if it's for a good reason she'll fight anyone. For example, Bree took down the Machamp of the collector who tormented Berry for so long to save her.
Berry wasn’t always the confidant and boisterous girl she is now, she was timid and afraid at first, but Bree helped her through it and treats Berry like her own child.
Berry stuck next to Bree like glue after that and knowing that even if the collector ever came looking for her again, Bree would keep her safe.
That's another pokemon up
