Miroku meets Ranma by GoldeenHerself on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Miroku will never recover from the trauma. :XD: Or the boot-to-the-head Ranma will be giving him any second now. Sango, however, will be sending Ranma flowers for the rest of her life.

Poor Inyasha: ramen—DENIED! But then again, Akané was the one making it, so maybe it's just as well. Because if anyone can ruin ramen, it would be that girl. :noes:

Note for seriously confused people: The characters here are from two different mangas by Japanese mangaka Rumiko Takahashi: Miroku (the one in purple on the left) is lecherous priest who asks every attractive woman he meets to bear his child. He is from InuYasha, a fairy tale set in fuedal Japan. Ranma (in red on the right) is a young (male) martial artist who turns into a girl when splashed with cold water, and back into a man when splashed with hot water. He has many different fiancés, and to be honest, being asked to bear some guy's child is probably not the strangest thing that has ever happened to him. He is from the manga Ranma 1/2, an action/romantic/comedy set in present-day Tokyo.

The woman on the left is Sango, who kinda-sorta-has a thing for Miroku, but she's the only one he hasn't asked to bear his child, so seeing his prospective partner turn into a man has just made her day. Or week. Or month. :XD: The characters off-screen are Akané, Ranma's first fiancé, who is a terrible cook. She is being assisted by Kagome and Inuyasha. Kagome seems surprised at Ranma's transformation, but I think Inuyasha is more disappointed at not getting any ramen.

For more info, go read the actual mangas. They are both awesome and full of win.

WHEW! This was fun! Haven't drawn IY/Ranma fanart in ages. I adore both mangas, and they have had a huge impact on my own style. Anyway, this is for ~ThatTime's February contest. ~ThatTime is a monthly Inuyasha-themed contest run by some very devoted and driven deviants. It's been going, without a break, for almost as long as I've been a member of dA, and I've been a member of it almost since the beginning. How long ago was that? well check out what one of their first submissions is. :fear:

I think we've both come a very long way.
