If not for the generosity of the Eremites, I would be nothing more than a sand-covered husk wilting away in the Great Red Sand, another pitiable victim of the desert's temptations of discovery and untouched wealth. And the Eremites didn't simply mend me back to health and send me on my way; no, they accepted me as one of their own, believing that fate had driven me into the desert and into their sun-tanned arms. And what kind of person would I have been if I were to spit in the face of such generosity? I ate with them, slept in their tents, bantered with them around the campfire, fought alongside them; it wasn't long before I started seeing myself less like an outsider mingling with those beyond my purview and more like a part of the family…

And then came the day that truly defined me. I was presented with the most illustrious boon from my fellow eremites: the opportunity to bond with a piece of technology from the ancient civilization that once called this desert home and become a powerful loremaster, one that I accepted without an ounce of hesitation. The process was arduous, and the changes to my being that it brought about were almost too jarring for my mind to accept; but my time training and honing my resolve with my fellow Eremites gave me enough strength to muster the power that was being granted to me. And once the bonding was over, I felt nothing but joy and ecstasy coursing through me; the long, pink hair now adorning my head fluttered in the desert winds as I admired the many curvaceous, alluring alterations that were made to my body.

My newfound power was sublime—control over the element of fire and the ability to conjure deadly constructs using the technology of old—and it was crystal clear to me how this power must be used in my hands. They gave me so much, my Eremite brothers and sisters; and now, it was finally time to give something back.
