Dawnstar is a member of the 31st Century's Legion of Super-Heroes, part of the DC Comics universe for more than 50 years. She comes from the planet Starhaven, settled by Native Americans from Earth who have genetically engineered themselves to have wings.

Dawnstar's abilities are portrayed as having been further enhanced to enable her to fully track or seek anyone's path or location, even from across a galaxy, and to travel in open space at multiples of light speed.

I've avidly followed this lovely and determined character in the Legion stories for over thirty years, since her creation by Mike Grell (visuals) and Paul Levitz (backstory and attributes). After fifteen years of being rarely seen, she's recently returned in the current series of LSH printed stories.

Greybird is one of Dawny's two younger brothers, only mentioned in the text of the comics. I adopted that Net moniker as a tribute to a sister I'd have been glad to have — along with the wings running in the family!
