Former high ranked members of a 'not so great' corporation/society (Shinra corporation and soul society) who were respected by their coworkers and normal populous who betrayed their respective corporation/society for a personal reason (Sephiroth betrayed them because he was enraged when he found out that he was created by using jenova cells and extreme experimentations and aizen betrayed them because he wanted to be the strongest and to overthrow the soul king because he was only a king in title),they both were once presumed dead but in reality were alive,in their journeys they merged with something that made them almost impossible to beat (Sephiroth merged with the planet's life stream and aizen merged with the hogyoku) but despite all of this, they were beaten by a spiky haired boy with a super sword (Cloud strife and Ichigo kurosaki)who was the same boy they obssesed over. Both of them also have very similar personalities being the super smart yet cocky masterminds who like to disrespect their enemies.
