My Top 10 Crash Bandicoot Characters by HarmonyBunny2024 on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

10. Nina Cortex - Neo Cortex's lovely daught-err, niece who loves cute and cuddly animals like I do, but had her regular hands swapped out for solid, metallic ones and was sent to Madame Amberly's Academy of Evil to become more like her uncle. Still, she really has an interesting history and hope she gets fleshed out as a character more.

9. Ripper Roo - One of Cortex and Brio's failed experiments who now lives in a waterfall in the second island. Out of all the mutant animals, Ripper Roo is one of my favorites because of his craziness, insanity, and his epilogue being canon where he reads lots of intelligence books in order to become smart and proper, but still has an uncontrollable urge to go crazy often times.

8. Dingodile (well, the It's About Time version of him anyway) - I'll be honest, I wasn't really that interested in Dingodile. But after what he did in Crash 4, I'm starting to like him as a character more, rather than a plain villain with an Aussie accent. He gave up his villainous ways, swapped his flamethrower for a vaccum gun and opened up his own diner in Mosquito Marsh, New Orleans. Good for him!

7. Tawna (It's About Time) - At first, I was a bit skeptical on Tawna being a playable character in a mainline Crash game seeing as I'm not really a fan of her, but that all changed when this tough lass comes from an alternate universe and not the main universe (so I can keep my Tawna X Pinstripe canon, shhh). She has grown on me over time, and that wouldn't have helped if it wasn't for her tragic backstory. I'll take this Tawna over the original Tawna any day.

6. Doctor Neo Cortex - The charismatic yet manical big bad of the series, how can I not love Cortex for his attempts at taking over the world/multiverse, and failing at it thanks to his own, rejected creation? Seriously, he's that good for a bad guy. I especially love him in Twinsanity (even if I think that game's heavily overrated) where he often breaks the fourth wall. Would've been nice if he wasn't the final boss again in a future Crash game. You know, like N. Tropy in N-Tranced and Nina in Titans.

5. Crunch Bandicoot - I was first introduced to Crunch not in Wrath of Cortex, but N-Tranced instead. And of course, he has grown on me as the adopted big brother of both Crash and Coco. He had a lot of missed potential! He's got the strength, guts, and enhanced power to make him the brawn of the family. Wish we could have Crunch playable on-foot for once... come on, Activision. Where's our love for this hunky, bulky bandicoot bro?

4. Yaya Panda - Before she came to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled as an early Christmas present, I've only known her existence through her page in Bandipedia who only appeared in mobile phone games. Since her arrival in the 2019 remake of Naughty Dog's final Crash game, Yaya has caught my attention as an adorable little panda bear who's fluffy, fast and knows kung-fu. Seriously, she's a force to be reckoned with. Don't you dare mess with this cub. She's more than what she seems... Overall, Yaya's one of my most favorites. 'Nuff said.

3. Pasadena O'Possum - Yet another mutant animal that I love. Pasadena's such a darlin' cutie pie who has a Texan accent and cares deeply for her boss and owner of the MotorWorld, Ebenezer Von Clutch. I also adored her crush on none other than Crash himself, I just think they're a cute couple. Despite Crash not wanting to be involved in Pasadena's flirty attitude, he is willing to help her out with her favors. Plus, she's one of the more underrated girls of the franchise, and hope to see her again with a prominent role.

2. Coco Bandicoot - One half of my all-time favorite characters, Coco has it all. She's got the smarts, the toughness, and adorable girly attitude. I just really love her and the fact that she carries her laptop around at all times (well, in IAT it was a tablet instead). She's a great partner to her own big brother and if it wasn't for her interruptions in Crash 2, he would've blindly followed Cortex's orders and everyone on Earth will be brainwashed by the mad doctor's Cortex Vortex space station. Coco is my most favorite female character because of that.

1. Crash Bandicoot - The title character himself, a hilarious goofball with a tiny brain and a heart of gold. Crash is my most favorite male character for a good reason. He's funny, he's cool, and he cares deeply for his family despite being lazy and laidback all the time. I just love him for his heroic deeds, and the fact that he's so fluffy. This is why he deserves the #1 spot for being my favorite character of the entire series. Hoping your future grows strong, you goofy, mohawk-haired marsupial.
