This was a challenge day for me, and a chance to find new images. I bicycled the back roads to Bloomington on State Route 45, my first time in many years, about an hour and a half, 22 miles.

I stopped to shoot this barn from two angles, head on and off center, choosing this. The rustic, aged structure, still tight and in use, set a somber mood. The colors were rich and deep, but it was too early in the afternoon for how I felt it should be presented. I increased the contrast, darkened the tones, it became as if dusk.

I have been searching my lost images from the early 1970s for another quite similar to this, a cabin in the woods at dusk. Haven't found it yet, hence the lost images.

In my back jersey pocket I had a gift photo of flowers on a bicycle. I had taken the image months ago, and now had the time to leave it in their mailbox, on my way to Bloomington.
