In an alternate univers, Clones are still produced, The plan of the chencelor Palpatine didn't as well expected. The republic won and the clones production was a succes. So the Republic continue the contract, keeping them for the security of major point of the Republic, still with jedis on their side.The armors evolved as the skills of those brave soldiers.

So the 501st continue its job to protect and serve the republic at all cost, as the most efficient legion ever.
