Personnaly trained by the famous Count Dooku, General Grievous was a lightsaber master, defeating Jedi after jedi, and collect their lightsaber as trophy.

At Hypori, assigned to protect the Hypori Droid Factory. His ships shot down various Acclamator-class assault cruisers and then led the massive assault against Master Barrek and killed him. Alongside B2 Super Battle Droids and OG-9 Homing Spider Droids, the 2003 Grievous's forces surrounded the Jedi, led by Ki-Adi-Mundi, and he went inside, killing 3 of them and wounding three of them. Clone troopers arrived to rescue the Jedi but he killed them viciously. Ki-Adi-Mundi, wanted to persue him but they left instead leaving this Grievous to prepare to slaughter billions.

I tried for this picture to stick in a style between his first appearance and the film.
