An incident was made prevalent when a trainer evolved their Nidorino after giving it the competitive item known as Life Orb. After a few battles against trainers and random wild Pokemon, the trainer reported that their Nidorino ended up evolving without a Moon Stone.

This unknown form of Nidoking has become a Psychic/Ground type, completely losing its poison typing entirely. Despite its terrifying appearance, this Nidoking seems to have mellowed out and reached a state of zen, controlling its strength as it seeks to understand more on what it has become through battle.

The strange variant of Nidoking seems to have utilized the life-draining properties of the Life Orb to achieve a whole new state of evolutionary potential, purging the poison in its body and supplementing it with the mysterious power that comes from the Life Orb. Now reaching a state of zen, this Pokemon uses its newfound psychic powers to preserve peace for itself, and the Nidoran, Nidorino/Nidorina that seek its guidance.
