ABOUT TIME!

Oh, boy! Oh, boy...I've been meaning to develop this idea for months and months now but finally after style practice, mental motivation and time, it is constructed and completed!
Another new chapter constituting to my MLP Head-canon/AU story! AKA, Everlight Everlasting Head-canon. <33
This time looking in the past before my first head-canon screenshot drawing with young Flurry Heart, Older Shining Armour and Princess Cadance. <333
I've sort of unconsciously altered the official shows style more then what I original wanted but it turned out very pleasant and joyful to look at! The beauty and soft colouring is what I consider perfect. I wanted the next head-canon screenshot inspired drawing to more light-hearted before going for more dramatic and serious forms.
So with this drawing, I'll be making my own story on how Princess Flurry Heart got her cutie-mark! And a little bit about the timeline on how things ended up. <33

HEADCANON

A head-canon or alternate universe, if you wish; a time long after Princess Twilight has been crowned the ruler of Equestria when Princess Celestia and Luna had retired, Twilight was now responsible along with her best friends to take care of the land.
Yet as time when on and her appearance never changed compared to everyone else, is it possibly that other then being a Princess and an Alicorn; maybe she was more different then she thought. Immortality made her stand out among any-pony else. And with immortality, comes great happiness and great grieve...Which comes to this; decades and years passed since the crowning of Princess Twilight Sparkle over Equestria. Being within a family of mortal parents is of course normal, and when you are a child you do unfortunately have to see your parents go.
Yet for Twilight Sparkle, it's so much more then that. Being part of the biggest family of Alicorns; there was always one pony, one stallion that stood out. Shining Armour. Her big brother, best friend forever...
But that seemed to be a lie...And the first time for Twilight Sparkle to experience that.

STORY

FAMILY COMMEMORATION

“W-What was that? Did you see that light, that was so bright! What just happened?”

What happened just a minute ago could not be explained for a moment as a brighter, more colourful light then ever before erupted from the Crystal Heart and the Crystal Palace. Sparkles and shimmers of magic flowed from above the Royal Family’s head as a swirling, newly formed aurora danced across the flawless blue sky. Flurry Heart’s eyes widened with surprise and startled pupils as the light faded, the Crystal Heart in front of her spinning and hovering joyfully as her head turned towards her parents standing there with more shock than she is seen across their faces.

“Mother, Daddy? What is the matter?...W-Why are you looking at me like that, did I do something wrong? Oh dear, I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to touch the crystal heart like that, I’m so sorry.”

Flurry apologised nervously, getting that feeling in her stomach at thinking she did something very wrong before her smile began to smile, then grin. Then give a little squeal that shocked the young alicorn’s heart for a double take.

“Flurry. Flurry, do you not see? Look behind you on your flank, dear.”

Princess Cadance spoke softly, confusing Flurry for a second before the gear bolted inside her mind as she looked with a curious turn. Shining like the walls of the castle was none other then her very own cutie-mark. Pink and blue, sharp, and smooth against her light pink fur, a gasp escaped those god-smacked lips.

“I-I-I…I got my cutiemark…I-I got my cutie-mark. I actually got my cutie-mark!”

Flurry stumbled over her words, near speechless as she turned on the spot to get at better look just as her proud, giddy parents did at they near skipped over. Shining Armour’s eyes threatened to burst with joy, excitement, and pride with even Princess Cadance unable to hold back and gleam with happy tears welling up inside.

“Oh, my baby girl! Oh, by the heart’s power you had finally got it! I am so proud of you! EEEEE!”

Shining Armour’s hooves tapped, and his voice squealed excitedly again. Overjoyed beyond words in his celebration. His scarf and greyed hair following with bouncy attention, Cadance looking over with a loving but slightly concerned smile that had to be held otherwise she would openly cry at all the positive feeling flowing through her. Shining Armour appeared to be acting more excited and joyed then Flurry Heart did, the young foal still stocked beyond belief as the crowd behind them were interrupted from their Crystal Fair from the bright light. Pieces of the crowd overheard and show the scene, beginning to follow along with their own excited cheers of celebration as the shining crystal ponies clapped and some even danced on the spot at their youngest princess achievement.

“But. I do not understand, what does this mean, mother? Why did I get my cutie-mark? All I did was contribute to the Crystal Fair, I…I touched the heart, it was like it spoke to me or something…I’ve never seen it like that before.”

Flurry explained softly, looking back at the heart at it continued to shin near as bright as any star in the sky. Across the edges of clean blue were the highlights of yellow, pink, and cyan; the same colours ribboning through the atmosphere of Equestria and beyond. Cadance approached her daughter, appearing wise and loving as she lifted the youngster’s chin motherly.

“I believe…It means you are something extremely special, Flurry Heart. Not just because of your wings and your horn, but with what you are able to do to ponies. You bring joy, happiness, hope and light. From all corners across Equestria…”

Cadance started, gently leading her eyes back towards the Aurora filled sky. Double strands of each of the three colours filling and reflecting through their eyes like embodied emotions. Flurry’s mother looking back at her as she stared with amazement.

“You will be a Princess that’ll spread hope and light to those who have less of it. Just like you have given to the crystal ponies behind you and to us. I have never seen them so joyed since they were released from Sombra with their shining coats. And the Crystal Heart seems to know it too. You know, it is a lot more than just being a magic object of protection; its just like you Flurry Heart. And it sounds like it knows it too.”

The Princess of Love finished with a warm giggle, making the young alicorn’s eyes widen even more as a bright, wonderful smile spread across her glowing cheeks. She suddenly sprung on the spot, giggling, and laughing as her front hooves danced at her happiness; thanking her mother gratefully as she sprinted off to find her Crystal Pony friends to show off. Just in the nick of time too as Cadance looked around to Shining Armour as he approached her, suddenly giving an episode of quiet, short coughs that coursed the unicorn to cover his mouth. All that excitement must have overwhelmed him too much.

“Oh Shining, you really couldn’t help it could you? I understand, but you must be careful with that cough. You’ve had it for a good few month now…Do you know what it is? It isn't serious, is it?”

Cadance whispered with concern, her smile softening as she went in to hug Shining Armour. Giving another short series of thicker coughs before clearing his voice, his chest feeling ruff and shallow even with the scarf covering it. Both their ears slightly pointed back, Cadance’s horn pressed against Shining Armour’s briefly for a supporting embrace. He needed to take a very careful and collected inhale as the coughs coursed a shortness of breath.

“Unfortunately…N-Not good. * Cough* Not good at all…Let us not talk about that now though, honey…Not when Flurry just got her cutie-mark, let us have a happy day today. We would not want to ruin the happy mood, now would we?”

‘Oh Shining…Oh my dear, poor Shining…Please, be okay. Don't...Don't do this to me…’
