I wanted to keep the character recognizable whilst stripping away everything that Disney has trademarked about him. Grant Gardner was created by Republic Pictures to be their version of Captain America (a lot of liberties were taken with the source material). While the true Cap is owned and trademarked by Disney, this iteration fell into the public domain in the seventies (you can watch his serial legally for free online) and I'm making this remix of him open-source. So anyone dissatisfied with with the current direction of Steve Rogers now has an alternative that they can use, totally free. He is owned by you, the American people, and that I think makes him a better symbol of liberty. Just don't call him Captain America.
