Ankylosaurus base mesh (feedback wanted) by JakubSolar on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

This Ankylosaurus reconstruction is heavily based on the quite new GetAwayTrike's skeletal of the dinosaur, with noticable flatter body: pbs.twimg.com/media/FtSISTAacA… so minor shoutout to that artist:

I want to also discuss if these proportions are fine to use when reconstructing the dinosaur, or if i have to stick with chonkier older shapes in paleoarts. I personally guess, I can support such new shape for several reasons:

1-Pinacosaurus, related mongolian ankylosaur does have such flat proportions.

2-Lots of people say that Ankylosaurus was more wide than tall, so predators couldn't flip the herbivore on the back and expose the vulnerable underside of the body.

What do you personally think of this take if it can work for plausible reconstruction?
