I actually know a man who makes his own long stemmed pipes like this It's a dying art, and the tobacco he smokes in them is his own blend, which smells amazing. He makes them from clay or wood, and learned the art from his father, who in turn learned from his father, and so on down the generations. He also spins his own wool/cotton on a spinning wheel, and practices so many of the "Old Ways" that people today have forgotten.
