Chiharu goes out to look at pretty trees in her hakama!

I haven't drew Chiharu since 2012, so I wanted to go back and practice drawing her using my current skills. Chiharu in this picture is at preteen/early teenage. Older renderings of her at this age can be found here.

I started drawing Chiharu because I was interested in Japanese folklore surrounding the nine-tailed fox. (Previous anime/manga nerd who loved anything about magical foxes...) Looking back to her early portrayals, her clothing was more Chinese-based rather than Japanese-based. I now prefer that her portrayals be more culturally accurate. I'll be fixing more of her clothing in the future.
