What do you like about medieval Europe? Share your knowledge with me!

I would like to share a painting I made for the Dark Ages board game. Here we have another playable leader from the Middle Europe Box, Gero the Great. He was a Count of Eastern Frankia (Modern Germany), who was instrumental in the kingdom's expansion east, into the uncharted lands of the Slavs.
