A world of pure imagination by joni-lynne on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

to be quite honest, willy wonka always creeped me out. but the song fit it perfectly,
so it's the title.
there's actually a story here. so I often draw random people that I make up,
but very rarely do those drawings have a story or real character behind them- this one actually does.
I was cleaning out by desk the other day and I found a folder of a bunch of poems and stories I wrote
a lonnnggg time ago. Like I'm guessing this one was written when I was about... wow I don't know.
10? Fifth grade? It was the only "book" I ever finished. A whole 17 pages of computer paper, written on
front and back in my then-HUGE handwriting, complete with scrawled, fancy page numbers and occasional
illustrations. This was the main character, and I'm not even going to tell you most of the story cause it was pretty
sad, haha.. I just liked coming up with intense scenes and throwing them all together incoherently.

but her name (haha brace yourselves) was "Ndinyah". Like, WHAT?! I liked coming up with completely made-up,
ridiculous names for all the characters. She was a fairy in the original story. I forgot her wings..
But I drew this at about one in the morning last night, so I like it. Especially
in comparison with the illustrations I did of her when I was 10 and wrote her into existence.
