You know Superboy and Gohan are vastly different characters and most similarities between the two are superficial
Gohan is the original son of Goku as such making him a legacy character and hero, he undergoes a lot of training and traumatic experiences at a young age fighting vicious villains since the age of 4.

Conner Kent is a clone of Superman that is supposed to replace Superman after his death fighting Doomsday however after Superman's return from his death, Supebroy essentially became a member of the Teen Titans and Young Justice eventually starting a relationship with Wonder Girl but was killed by Superboy Prime in Infinite Crisis.

I feel that Gohan is much more beloved by the Dragon Ball fan community than Conner ever was by Superman fans, like now he is being replaced by Jon Kent and that Rebirth Superman doesn't seem to question where he is makes me feel that Superman never saw Conner as his son
