"Here comes a thought that might alarm you..."

The butterflies immediately reminded me of that song, and given Shadow's state, the impression I'm getting is that those thoughts are making him lose himself as they're "suddenly swarming, and oh, he's losing sight... he's losing touch... all these little things seem to matter so much..." I wonder how long it will be before he "asks himself if this is how we fall apart?" if he hasn't already...
