History:
Shafan is a veteran of the sultan's army. He once guarded The Pools of Elysia, but has been passed over in light of his disfigurement. He lost much of the vision in his left eye, but that has not affected his duties. A veteran of the red sands, Shafan is familiar with some of the farthest reaches of Saraph territory. He prefers to lead small patrols. He's distasteful of taking green recruits on all but the most basic missions. His exterior may seem harsh, but never refuses to help those who truly seek it. The warrior carries himself with a quiet sort of dignity, unlike the many loud, boastful mercenaries that gather at the watering pool.

There were whispers of doubt about his parentage when Shafan was born. His mother was a warrior, but she was quietly forgotten after her untimely death when Shafan was young. He grew up to become a hardy young tiercel and naturally filled his mother's shoes.

Rumor has it that he received the scar across his face during a failed fight over a hen at Fire Bird’s Gorge. Shafan does not speak of the event.
