Russia blatantly dispatched troops to the eastern Ukraine. Putin even said that “Ukraine is an inalienable part of our own history, culture and spiritual space,” (Oh I get a Deja vu). Westen countries have imposed economic sanctions on Russia, but Russia could ignore it and break out a war, which will affect the world.

Russian nationalists believe that both Ukraine and Russia originate from the ancient Slavic state "Kievan Rus" (882-1240 AD), so the complete territory must include Ukraine. However, today's Russia has not completely ruled Ukraine. Just like PRC China has never rule Hong Kong until 1997. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Ukraine's independence, the two sides are actually different sovereign states. Russia's claims about common history, language, culture, and literary ethnicity with Ukraine, is just like many tyrannical countries, using this as an excuse for trying to invade the territory of a small country. When we trace back to the history, the fact was that Ukraine/Kievan Rus was also the territory of the Mongolian Golden Horde (Kipchak Khanate), so why don't we all return to Mongolia together?
Maybe you will say that Hongkongers can't protect themselves, how can we and why support Ukraine? Let not talk about why Ukraine deserves/needs to be supported first - Putin's invasion of eastern Ukraine will probably be used by China as a "reference" to invade Taiwan - The world is too busy to look after this, many people in developed countries are unemployed and complained to their government should look after them first. In addition to the Taiwanese in Taiwan, many Hong Kong people have emigrated to Taiwan as well. ALSO Taiwan is the last country in the world that protects the traditional Chinese writing. Hong Kong may be forced to use simplified characters in a few years. What a disaster.
Even after the dissolution of the Soviet Union…
