Neither Beauty, Nor Beast I approached this movie with such trepidation that I waited until it was in second run before seeing it. I have not seen all the Disney live action remake of animated classics such as Cinderella so I cannot compare this new version of Beauty and the Beast with some of its predecessors. I did see Maleficent and I can contrast the Disney studio’s latest opus with it. Maleficent was as much a prequel as a remake of 1959’s Sleeping Beauty.
