Like most small mammals, Hoshino is a very shy and easily scared creature. She does not fare well in the presence of strangers and is often found to be very quiet when being introduced or confronted by new people. However, this does not mean that she does not strive for relationships and will often attempt to communicate with others in a profound way. Usually her methods of communication are awkward as she naturally becomes attentive to people's mannerism, discomforts and emotions. With that, her lack of confidence forms as she constantly fails at making new connections after every attempt she makes, it becomes hard for her to understand why she cannot make friends immediately.
Hoshino is also often described as spacey or distracted as you will often find her in a daze. This also leads to her cowardly nature, being scared of abrupt disruptions when she is not really paying attention. Nonetheless, if you do become friends with her she is one of the most loyal friends you will recieve as she acts entirely on her existence for others and not for herself. She lives to please.

What Hoshino remembers is only waking up in the forests, in a blanket of beautiful white. It was cold and she only wore a small cloth that barely covered her body. Her eyes took a moment to adjust to the bright moonlight before she raised her head towards the night, snow flakes fell softly around her. Crimson eyes swept the scene, finding no one, not a soul around as she finally started to grasp her surroundings. The young mouse was in a small clearing, surrounded by sleeping pines and glistening bright snow, illuminating the moon beams that shone above her. She looked up, the full moon basking her in it's glory, bright enough to feel like it was calling to her. She reached out towards the sky with a shaky, pale finger.
"Am I dead?" She gasped quietly at the sound of her voice, it was familiar but foreign to hear at the same time. Hoshino touched her lips as if to confirm that the sound came from her, a breath of condensation floated from her mouth and floated to the night, disappearing. It was then she noticed how cold it was and staggered to her feet, slowly adjusting to the new sensation of her body.
She didn't understand why everything felt so foreign, but nonetheless the need of warmth drove her through the quiet forest. Not a sound was made besides the soft crunching of snow under her bare feet. It wasn't long before Hoshino paused her venture to rest under the foot of a tree, feeling the cold starting to numb her body. She began to cry, feeling despair at the situation. Was she to die before even getting to live? Her warm tears melted the snow before her and she tucked herself into the cloth, wrapping her body as she wept.
"Child, why are you weeping?" Hoshino rose her head to the voice, eyes searching the forest before her eyes landed on a large buck, its antlers reaching towards the moon. It stepped out of the shadows, dark black eyes sparkling as he bowed his head before her, matching her crimson eyes. She opened her mouth to speak but found no words, her voice frozen with the rest of her body. The buck stared into her eyes before shifting behind Hoshino to lie in his warm fur, cradling her small body around his own. His large antler lowered as he bowed his head to rest on Hoshino's thighs and the young mouse looked weary at the beautiful buck. She reached a frozen hand to touch his head softly, barely whimpering out a thank you. They stayed that way for a minute before Hoshino's eyes began to fall, gradually taking away her consciousness. The buck simply watched with his black eyes, as if to reassure her safety and Hoshino fell asleep once again.
The morning came and Hoshino awoke alone, the buck was long gone and no evidence of its arrival or departure was found. She touched the tree trunk solemnly, it was still warm from the night. She took a moment to herself, wondering if it was even worth it to find a way out of the forest if she could barely survive the night alone with the buck. As she grieved a small rabbit appeared before her, staring at her with big black eyes. Hoshino stared back, eyes matching the familiar black before the rabbit quickly darted off into the forest. Hoshino scrambled to her feet and followed, running after the rabbit as it bounded through the snow, over tree roots and gradually glancing back to see if Hoshino was following. Eventually, the rabbit sped away and soon she lost sight of the creature. Confused, Hoshino wandered around the forest before finally, a jumble of voices beckoned to her and she found herself at the border of a small town.
Spirits were bustling as they wandered about and eventually she found her way to the INN. She offered herself to the WITCH, only asking for housing and care in return of her talents. When the WITCH asked her what she had to offer, immediately she responded with dance. She could entertain the guests, offering her talent of a bewitching dance, catching the hearts of her audience. The WITCH demanded Hoshino example her talent and she found her body move naturally, smoothing through the music gracefully. The WITCH accepted her trade and immediately christened her HOSHINO.
Her new life was difficult, dancing shows after show, but she did not regret her actions. She had a roof over her head, she was well fed and she was loved by the spirits who came to see her. The INN was her new home for the years to come.
