Description
GWR 1400 Class no. 1450 and London Transport L92 (ex-GWR 5700 Class no. 5786) make a fine sight leaving Highley (see, the title's not a typo!), double-heading a southbound service to Kidderminster during the Severn Valley Railway's 2015 Spring Gala. As you can see, they were putting on a fine show for the large numbers of visitors that day!
No. 1450 was built at Swindon in 1935, and was numbered 4850 until the 4800 Class was renumbered in 1946. 75 locos were made, of which four survive; 1450 is the only one currently in operational condition. L92 was built (as 5786) at Swindon in 1930, and is one of 16 survivors of the original 863 -- this was the most numerous of all GWR classes.
