Description
GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0 pannier tank no. 5764 (built at Swindon in 1929) is attended to on shed at Bridgnorth on the Severn Valley Railway, with LMS Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 no. 48773 in the background. Both these types of locomotive were highly successful, with more than 850 of each being produced, making them among the most numerous of British steam loco classes. This 2008 photo is now a historic shot, as neither engine is currently operational, though both may be seen on static display in the Engine House at Highley station.
