This is a real milestone for me; it's finally the completion of a series I began, quit, misplaced all the files for, forgot about for nine months, and then came back to finish. I'd originally done it for a contest from back in December; I was tired of Pisces being represented as just two fish, so I made a more original design. Once I'd done that, of course, I had to do the rest, which I didn't for almost a year. I am NOT a procrastinator; I DO finish things eventually!

The Zodiac is one of those unique things you can find in just about every ancient culture, including (surprisingly) Abrahamic monotheism, possibly the oldest living faith today besides Buddhism and Hinduism: www.patheos.com/blogs/hedgerow…. I know absolutely nothing about the astrological signs or which means what other than that I'm a Pisces, which, my sister was happy to share, is what most serial killers are (honestly, it does explain a lot). I did once look up my own star chart, but it was a while ago and also very confusing, so I don't remember any of it.

Anyway, I did these designs based on a few characteristics I Googled about each sign, but I was primarily dependent on the actual star constellations and elements; I tried to make each unique to itself, but also visibly recognizable. My top favorite is Libra; I saw something similar done by an illustrator whose work is featured here: www.boredpanda.com/female-zodi… and I just had to go with it (The Pisces on here is beautiful, but I AM SO DONE WITH FISH!!!). I think Pisces and Capricorn tie for my second favorite; I loved doing Capricorn's hair. In spite of it being a mer-goat, I refused to make Capricorn a mer-anything because it's an EARTH element; but I did give her floofy pants that are kind of tail-like if you turn your head sideways and squint.
