The Red-Horned Parasaur is one of the boldest herbivores on Arcadia. They travel in herds of between 10 and 25 individuals and use their bellowing cries to fend off any predator that comes near to them. When confronted by a threat, these dinosaurs stand in a formation where 2-3 bellow at it all at once. This volley of sonic attacks is enough to repel even dangerous predators like True Dragons, who'd rather hunt down less vocal prey and thus spare themselves the headache.
However, if a Parasaur is caught alone and away from its herd, the deafening bellow may not be enough to fend off a hungry predator.. especially if caught by surprise.

Ascended Red-Horned Parasaurs

are old, experienced males who have stumbled upon meadows or groves influenced by the Fae Realm. After feeding on the plants affected by Fae Magic, these old males underwent a noticeable transformation; their horns, resonance sacks, and sails became more prominent, armored scales formed in certain spots on their bodies (most notably the shoulder area), and their sonic abilities became enhanced.
These males represent the true apex of their species and can take on all but the most powerful predators one-on-one. Their sonic attacks have become powerful enough to shatter boulders, and their enhanced strength gives them more than enough power to take over any herd they desire.

Although traits of an Ascended Parasaur cannot be directly passed on to the next generation (being a result of a magically induced mutation), the young sired by such a male have been noted as healthier and stronger overall. Though exceedingly rare, ascended individuals seem to be highly prised by the females of their species.

Though unconfirmed, the ascension of parasaur males is theorized to be similar to the phenomenon observed in certain species of spitter drakes.

This is both a remake AND a compilation of two previously uploaded creatures, done mostly for the sake of comparison.
