Impressive! While I liked your descriptive text the image works without it. This is one of those pictures that tells its own story eloquently. Great work with the expressions both of the heroine and the crowd. Your composition and positioning of the heroine shows off her figure and ensures that she's the focal point of the artwork.

Interesting use of depth of field, too. That dollar bill doesn't need to be in focus to be recognizable so that's clever. Might have been nice to be able to make out what the other hand is holding, though. Smartphone taking pictures, perhaps? Hard to tell. Maybe that detail should have positioned in the middle distance.

The only jarring element is the hostage. Her anime-style features look out of place among all the realistic figures around her. But her appearance does convey her youth and about-to-be-lost innocence.
