I can safely say that this piece intrigues me. What really drew me to it was it's mixture of the macabre and a sense of serenity. It feels to me like the portrait of a woman who was devoured by a vampire or some other evil. In any case I feel for certain that this woman is dead, but it was a beautiful death somehow or she is still beautiful even in death, the flow of her magnificent hair reminiscent of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Of Love and Other Demons.

As for the painting itself, I really appreciate most of the details in the work. The highlights in her black hair give it shape and life. Beneath her chestline, everything seems to drain and bleed, the remains of her hair. The softness of her face and expression is perfectly captured. The positioning of her hands makes me curious. They seem raised, but at the same time she appears to be flat on her back. But in any case, they are limp, frozen in a position that no longer has life.

The one detail about the painting that bugs me is the hair on the right that's going diagonal. Everything in this painting has a downward motion: the dripping red, the rest of her hair, the tip of her head, where her fingers are pointing. The hair that is going sideways sticks out and irks me a bit. I think it would have been better to let it curl over the hand like the hair on the other side.

Congratulations on the DD and keep up the good work!
