B70 Valkyrie was designed for the US Air Force as a large, six-engine aircraft capable of reaching Mach 3+ while flying at 21,000 m, but the project was abandoned by Air Force and then picked up by NASA. B70 proved to be a perfect testbed for various spaceplane technologies.
