Oooh, this is such a fun photo. I love how it looks like the brown cow is whispering in the other one’s ear. 
I’m no photographer, so I can’t suggest anything very technical about the shot. However I do think you could improve this with a tiny little bit more contrast in digital post processing to really bring out the colours. If you wanted to get more into it and ‘cheat’ a bit more, you could also probably quickly remove distracting elements such as that bit of grass in the black cow’s fur near the ear – but that depends on how much you want to mess with the shot.
Talking about distracting elements, the bright white fence post in the foreground is something that draws the eye more than I’d like. If you could have stepped to the side a bit, (or grown a bit taller!), then it would be nicer if you could have avoided getting it in the shot – but looking at the horns on these two cows, I guess you probably didn’t want to get any closer!
If you’re good with photoshop (or similar programs) then even just slightly moving to the side and up a bit when you took the shot so that the post didn’t cover the cows would probably be enough to make it much easier to digitally remove later – since the grass is much easier to ‘clone’ over than the cow’s legs. Something to think about in the future perhaps?
All that said, this is a great moment you have captured; they have such beautiful thick fur, and those greens, browns, and blacks make for quite a striking scene. I think would make a very neat postcard!
