Caught last week by my sister, for sleeping with my other sister's husband to be, I was to be shunned by my family. My sister's betrothed has been dishonorably removed from our family; even though I told them it was my fault. I'm the one who came to his room and seduced him, but it was too late. My sister is in misery because of it.

I will dishonor my family no longer. In my room was left the ceremonial sarong and sword for the act of Jigai.

I knew what had to be done. I undressed, and put back on the lingerie I wore to wrongfully seduce my sister's man, what made him have sex with me. I donned the sarong over the lingerie.

Lying on the floor, I recited the words tearfully, that would break me from my family.

Then I grabbed the sword, and slit my throat. Choking, I fell over in a pool of my own blood......
