Super Smash Bros. 64 Logo | Accurate Restoration by MaxiGamer on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

A SVG vector file is available to download; please look for the green arrow at the right of this post to download it.

I am proud to call this here logo a 99%-accurate, high-quality restoration of Super Smash Bros. 64's logo. Many have attempted to recreate this logo in high quality, since the highest quality of this logo that is available is from a box art scan, which as we all know, isn't actually very high-quality, especially since it's printed onto a physical format and then scanned.

Here's why I can call this a 99%-accurate restoration: I used the three actual fonts used to create the original logo back in the mid-1990s.
They are:
- Pritchard Plain for the SUPER and BROS. words, with only the U being altered to look more like a traditional U with a curved bottom;
- ITC Kabel Bold for the big "SMASH" word;
- The previously unidentified Surface Rough, used for the chalk-like letters inside of the big SMASH word.

With all of this, I could recreate the Smash 64 logo as accurate as I could, using a high-quality scan of the NTSC box art for reference, positioning and resizing the letters as precisely as possible.

You can use this restored logo freely, without any credits, for any of your Super Smash Bros. 64 needs. As aforementioned at the beginning of this description, an infinitely scalable vector graphics (SVG) file is available for download, if 2000px isn't enough for you.

Have fun.
