I've always been a big fan of interpretations like Pokemon fusions and crossbreeds, so I decided to do a little of my own! A lot of times when I see the crossbreeds it can be hard to tell what the original Pokemon was, so I wanted to challenge my design brain by adding some features of the other Pokemon family while still being able to tell immediately what the base Pokemon was.

I decided to start with one of my favorites, Clefable. And what better way to start than with a crossbreed of the mascot of Pokemon themselves? I tried to line each one up to receiving traits from their equivalent in the evolutionary line (Cleffa/Pichu, Clefairy/Pikachu, Clefable/Raichu). Here's exactly what they inherited from their dear ol' dads:Cleffa: Cleffa loses their signature fluff and gains a small extra notch in their ear as well as some pink cheeks.Clefairy: Clefairy also loses it's fluff, it's already-existent pink cheeks are made more prominent and it gets some stripes on its back to match its brown ears.Clefable: like the others, their lose their fluff but gain some white cheeks, brown stripes and a little extra curl on their ears. Their wings also becomes more shaped like a Raichu's ear.

All in all, these were a lot of fun, and I have three other Clefable line crossbreed ideas (the Togekiss, Blissey and Roserade families to be precise) as well as some non-clefable crossbreeds and even an Eevee regional variant. Hopefully I can keep the art train going and get them all on paper!
