I still wonder if the joke means Ed had a shrink ray accident, explaining his size. Or if Ed intends to use a shrink ray to make everybody smaller than him. I can't decide because Ed's expression could be either annoyance (=shrink ray accident) or mischievousness (=shrink ray evil plan).
