Description

These men are wearing the official medal awarded to those who served in the original 1916 Easter Rising and the later War of Independence. The actual medals were donated to the local museum in Enniscorthy Castle & are worth a visit. N.B. If visiting be prepared to climb as Enniscorthy sprawls across very steep hills - everything is either up a hill, down a hill or half-way up one.
